Julie Stephenson
Counsellor, Admin Support, and Counsellor Coordinator 

"Hi I'm Julie. I currently work at Creative Minds as an adult and young persons counsellor, a couples therapist, and administrative support.

I have previously worked at the HMP justice system as part of the Drug Alcohol Recovery Team (DART) providing support to those struggling with substance misuse issues. I also have 10 years NHS ward based experience, providing person centred support and care to those with acute functional mental health assessment needs.

I am a qualified person centred counsellor graduating in July 2020 and I completed my certificate in couples and relationship therapy in 2022. 

I have a passion for working with all mental health issues and a deep personal interest in the impact of difficult relationships. I am dedicated to providing a safe, confidential, non judgmental, fluid space to encourage each person to bring themselves as the expert in the hope that the creation of a trusting relationship can support self awareness, acceptance and change. 

I joined Creative Minds North Star counselling CIC as a volunteer in the summer of 2019. Drawn by what they aim to achieve with early intervention, flexibility, zero or minimal waiting lists giving ALL the opportunity to change the parts they wish to change. I wholeheartedly believe in all that they do, and in the power of the relationship which is also at the heart of all  we do at Creative Minds .
